Lithium nitride is used in metallurgy and chemical synthesis. It is also used to store hydrogen
and acts as a source of the nitride ion. It is involved in the preparation of lithium hydride and
lithium amide as well as a reducing agent
moisture sensitive; store in a cool place; keep the container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place ; incompatible with oxidizing agents, acids, water, copper, carbon
tetrachloride and silicon tetrafluoride
